Description: Lysine is an essential amino acid and a building block for protein. In the body, it is a precursor of carnitine and citrulline. Lysine is found in meat, poultry, dairy products, eggs and beans. It is mainly used for herpes infections.

Cautions & Side Effects

Safety problems are unknown if used as suggested. High dosages of lysine may cause arginine deficiency or high cholesterol, high triglycerides and gallstones. Arginine may counteract the benefits of lysine. Use with caution if you have kidney or liver conditions.
