Description: Green tea is classified in a subclass of flavonoids: catechins. Tea is a large evergreen shrub native to Asia. It is from theaceae family. Green tea is dried tea which is not fermented. Its leaves are used medicinally.

Cautions & Side Effects

There is no known safety problems if used at suggested dosage. Green tea contains caffeine. Rarely may produce stimulant effect and may cause insomnia if used afternoon in high doses. See caffeine side effects. Use only small quantities during pregnancy and nursing. It may reduce or partially neutralize folic acid level in the body. If you have liver problems or peptic ulcer use green tea extracts with caution. Do not give to infants and young children. Use it with caution with other blood thinning supplements or drugs.
