Description: Bitter melon is a tropical plant native to tropical regions of east Africa, Asia and South America. It is from cucurbitaceae family. Its fruit is used as a food and its fruit, leaf and seed as a medicine.

Cautions & Side Effects

There is no known safety problems if used at suggested dosage. Overdoses may produce diarrhea and abdominal pain. If you are using diabetes medication, use bitter melon under the control of an experienced practitioner to prevent hypoglycemia conditions. The safety for children and for people with kidney or liver disease is unknown. Do not use bitter melon if you are pregnant or nursing.
