Description: Arginine is a semi-essential amino acid found in protein containing foods. It is one of the building blocks of protein. In the body it is produced from citrulline and ornithine and it helps to produce creatine, glutamic acid and proline. Arginine and ornithine help in the production of growth hormone. Arginine is a precursor of nitric oxide which helps to dilate blood vessels and helps the body get rid of ammonia.

Cautions & Side Effects

There is no known safety problems if used 1-3 g daily. Safety is unknown for children and for pregnant or nursing women. High doses of arginine may create digestive problems, nausea and headache. Do not use arginine if you have general herpes virus infection, alcohol addiction, colitis, gastritis, schizophrenia, asthma and kidney or liver disease. Use high doses of arginine with caution if you have peptic ulcer.
