Supplements for Oral Use
- Bromelain
  
Bromelain is an anti-inflammatory; reduces inflammation; alleviates bruises and post-surgical pain; reduces swellings; accelerates tissue healing and recovery. Take 1-4 g (2,000-8,000 MCU) of bromelain daily, between meals, in divided doses, for many weeks.
- Citrus bioflavonoids
  
Citrus bioflavonoids reduce lymphedema caused by surgery; reduce swellings and inflammation; alleviate pain and accelerate tissue repair. Take 2-3 g of citrus bioflavonoids daily, in divided doses, for many months.
- Diosmin
  
Diosmin reduces swellings and lymphedema caused by surgery; improves mobility; accelerates tissue healing. Take 0.5-1.0 g of diosmin daily, in divided doses, for many months.
- Ginger
  
Ginger reduces nausea. Take 0.5-1.0 g of ginger 1-2 hours before anesthesia. Caution: If used high doses may increase the risk of bleeding.
- Glutamine
  
Glutamine helps to produce protein; accelerates tissue healing; enhances immune system; used for pre- and post-surgery health. Take 2.5-5.0 g of glutamine daily, in divided doses, between meals, for many months.
- Hesperidin
  
Hesperidin reduces lymphedema caused by surgery; reduces inflammation and swellings; alleviates pain; improves mobility. Take 1-3 g of hesperidin daily, in divided doses, for many months.
- OPC's
  
OPC's are anti-inflammatory; reduce lymphedema caused by surgery; reduce swellings and edema; strengthen capillary walls and blood vessel walls; protect collagen; accelerate tissue repair. Take 400-600 mg of OPC's daily, in divided doses, for many months.
Supplements for Topical Use
- Horse chestnut
 
Horse chestnut is an anti-inflammatory; reduces inflammation, edema and swellings. Apply 2% of aescin containing horse chestnut topical preparation 2-4 times daily, for many weeks, as suggested on the label.
- Arnica

Arnica is a vulnerary; alleviates post-surgical pain; reduces inflammation; accelerates tissue healing. Apply arnica containing topical preparation 2-5 times daily, for many weeks, as suggested on the label.
- Cayenne

Cayenne alleviates nerve pain following surgery. Apply cayenne topical cream, containing 0.025–0.075% capsaicin, 3-4 times daily, for many weeks, as suggested on the label.
- Propolis

Propolis accelerates tissue repair; reduces inflammation. After an oral surgery use a mouthwash containing propolis many times daily, as suggested on the label.
- Vitamin A

Vitamin A accelerates tissue healing; accelerates tissue repair; prevents scarring; regenerates the skin. Apply a cream containing vitamin A 2-4 times daily, for many weeks, as suggested on the label.
- Vitamin E

Vitamin E accelerates tissue healing; accelerates tissue repair; prevents scarring. Apply a cream containing vitamin E 2-4 times daily, for many weeks.
