Supplements for Oral Use
- DHA
 
DHA is an omega 3 fatty acid; improves vision; slows down the progression; used for prevention and treatment. Take 0.5-1.5 g of DHA daily, in divided doses, for many months.
- Bilberry

Bilberry is an antioxidant; neutralizes free radicals; improves vision; slows down the progression. Take standardized bilberry extract daily, containing 60-90 mg of anthocyanosides, in divided doses, for many months.
- Fish oil

Fish oil contains omega 3 fatty acids; improves vision; slows down the progression. Take 6-9 g of fish oil daily, containing 18% EPA and 12% DHA, in divided doses, for many months.
- OPC's

OPC's improve vision; reduce myopia. Take 150-300 mg of OPC's daily, in divided doses, for many months.
- Zeaxanthin

Zeaxanthin is an antioxidant; neutralizes free radicals and improves vision. Take 2-4 mg of zeaxanthin daily, in divided doses, for many months. Use it with fat or oil containing food. Works better with lutein.
