Supplements for Oral Use
- Devil's claw
  
Devil's claw is an anti-inflammatory; reduces inflammation; alleviates pain. Take 1.0-2.5 g of standardized devil's claw root extract daily, containing 3% of harpagosides, in divided doses, for many months.
- Proteolytic enzymes
  
Proteolytic enzymes are anti-inflammatory; they alleviate pain; reduce duration and severity; accelerate healing. Take proteolytic enzymes daily, in divided doses, between meals, for many months, as suggested on the label.
- Black cohosh
 
Black cohosh is a calmative; reduces muscle pain caused by nervous tension. Take 80-120 mg of standardized black cohosh extract daily, containing 2.5% of triterpene glycosides, in divided doses, for many months.
- Boswellia
 
Boswellia is an anti-inflammatory; alleviates pain. Take standardized boswellia extract daily, containing 0.5-1.5 g of boswellic acids, in divided doses, for many months.
- Bromelain
 
Bromelain reduces inflammation; alleviates pain; accelerates tissue healing. Take 1-4 g (2,000-8,000 MCU) of bromelain daily, between meals, in divided doses, for many weeks.
- Butterbur
 
Butterbur is an analgesic, antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory; alleviates pain. Take 100-200 mg of standardized and pyrrolizidine alkaloids free butterbur extract daily, containing 15-30 mg of petasin, in divided doses, for many months.
- d-Phenylalanine
 
d-Phenylalanine is analgesic, antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory; reduces inflammation and alleviates spasms and chronic pain. Take 1.5-2.0 g of d-phenylalanine daily, in divided doses, between meals, for many months.
Supplements for Topical Use
- Arnica
 
Arnica alleviates muscle soreness; reduces inflammation, pain and tenderness. Apply arnica containing topical preparation 2-5 times daily, for many weeks, as suggested on the label.
- Benzoin oil

Benzoil oil alleviates muscle soreness; reduces inflammation and tenderness. Apply benzoin oil containing topical preparation 2-4 times daily, for many weeks, as suggested on the label.
- Camphor oil

Camphor oil improves blood circulation locally; alleviates pain and other symptoms. Apply a few drops of pure or diluted camphor oil topically 2-3 times daily, for many months, as suggested on the label.
- Castor oil

Castor oil alleviates muscle pain. Use castor oil as a rub or as a pack, as suggested on the label.
- Cetyl myristoleate

Cetyl myristoleate is an anti-inflammatory; reduces inflammation; alleviates pain and other symptoms. Apply cetyl myristoleate containing cream 2-4 times daily, for many months.
- Emu oil

Emu oil is an anti-inflammatory; reduces muscle inflammation and pain. Apply emu oil or emu oil containing topical preparation 2-4 times daily, for many weeks, as suggested on the label.
- Fatty acids cetyl esters

Fatty acids cetyl esters are anti-inflammatory; they reduce inflammation; alleviate pain and other symptoms. Apply fatty acids cetyl esters containing topical preparation 2-4 times daily, for many months.
