- Black haw root

Black haw root reduces intestinal spasms. Take black haw root daily, in divided doses, for many months, as suggested on the label.
- Butterbur

Butterbur is an analgesic, antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory; alleviates intestinal spasms. Take 100-200 mg of standardized and pyrrolizidine alkaloids free butterbur extract daily, containing 15-30 mg of petasin, in divided doses, for many months.
- Calendula

Calendula is an anti-inflammatory; alleviates intestinal spasms and other symptoms. Take 3-6 teaspoon (15-30 g) of calendula flowers daily, in tea form, in divided doses, for many weeks.
- Wild yam
Wild yam is an analgesic and an antispasmodic; reduces intestinal spasms and pain. Take 3 g of dried wild yam root daily, in divided doses, for many months.
