Supplements for Oral Use
- Calcium

Calcium alleviates symptoms of hyperparathyroidism caused by kidney insuffisiancy. Take 0.5-1.0 g of calcium daily, in citrate form, in divided doses, for many months.
- EPA
EPA is an omega 3 fatty acid; reduces bone loss caused by hyperparathyroidism. Take 1.5-3.0 g of EPA daily, in divided doses, for many months.
- Fish oil
Fish oil contains omega 3 fatty acids; reduces bone loss caused by hyperparathyroidism. Take 6-9 g of fish oil daily, containing 18% EPA and 12% DHA, in divided doses, for many months.
- GLA
GLA reduces bone loss caused by hyperparathyroidism. Take 300-600 mg of GLA daily, in divided doses, with meals, for many months. If you take 2-4 g of black currant seed oil, containing 15% of GLA or 1.25-2.50 g of borage oil, containing 24% of GLA or 3-6 g of evening primrose oil, containing 10% of GLA you receive 300-600 mg of GLA.
- Ipriflavone
Ipriflavone alleviates symptoms of hyperparathyroidism. Take 400-600 mg of ipriflavone daily, in divided doses, for many months.
