Supplements for Oral Use
- Beta-glucan
   
Beta-glucan is a soluble fiber; increases HDL (good) cholesterol; reduces total cholesterol, LDL (bad) cholesterol and triglycerides and promotes cholesterol elimination by fecal excretion. Take 3-6 g of beta-glucan daily, in divided doses, for many months.
- Fiber
   
Fiber reduces total cholesterol. Take soluble fiber daily, in divided doses, for many months, as suggested on the label.
- Glucomannan
   
Glucomannan is a soluble fiber; reduces total cholesterol and LDL (bad) cholesterol; increases HDL (good) cholesterol; reduces triglycerides. Take 5-10 g of glucomannan daily, in divided doses, before meals, with 2 glass of water, for many months.
- Psyllium
   
Psyllium is a soluble fiber; reduces total cholesterol; reduces LDL (bad) cholesterol. Take 10-15 g of psyllium husk daily, in divided doses, with 2 glass of water, for many months.
- Soy protein
   
Soy protein reduces total cholesterol; reduces LDL (bad) cholesterol; reduces triglycerides. Take 20-30 g of soy protein daily, in divided doses, for many months.
- Stanol esters
   
Stanol esters prevents cholesterol absorption; promotes cholesterol elimination by fecal excretion; reduces total cholesterol; reduces LDL (bad) cholesterol. Reduces cholesterol levels of type 2 diabetic people too. Take 3-5 g of stanol esters daily, in divided doses, for many months.
- Vitamin B3 - Niacin
   
Vitamin B3 - Niacin reduces total cholesterol; reduces LDL (bad) cholesterol; reduces triglycerides; increases HDL (good) cholesterol. Reduces cholesterol levels of diabetic people too. Take up to 3 g of niacin daily, in divided doses, for many months. Use this dosage under the control of an experienced practitioner.
