Supplements for Oral Use
- Oxerutins
   
Oxerutins reduce bleeding, itching and inflammation; strengthen blood vessel walls; reduce frequency and severity; alleviate pain. Take 0.5-3.0 g of oxerutins daily, in divided doses, for many months. May be used by pregnant women.
- Bilberry
  
Bilberry improves blood circulation; strengthens blood vessel walls; reduces frequency and severity; alleviates symptoms. Take standardized bilberry extract daily, containing 60-90 mg of anthocyanosides, in divided doses, for many months or take bilberry leaf daily, in divided doses, for many weeks, as suggested on the labels.
- Citrus bioflavonoids
  
Citrus bioflavonoids reduce bleeding, itching and inflammation; strengthen blood vessel walls; reduce frequency and severity and alleviate pain. Take 2-3 g of citrus bioflavonoids daily, in divided doses, for many months. May be used by pregnant women.
- Diosmin
  
Diosmin reduces bleeding, itching and inflammation; strengthens blood vessel walls; reduces frequency and severity; alleviates pain. Take 1-3 g of diosmin daily, in divided doses, for many months. Works better with hesperidin.
- Fiber
  
Fiber alleviates constipation; improves stool quality; stimulates bowel movement. Take insoluble and soluble fiber daily, in divided doses, for many months, as suggested on the label.
- Hesperidin
  
Hesperidin reduces bleeding, itching and inflammation; strengthens blood vessel walls; reduces frequency and severity; alleviates pain. Take 1-3 g of hesperidin daily, in divided doses, for many months.
- Psyllium
  
Psyllium is a soluble fiber; it is a bulk-forming laxative; stimulates bowel movement; reduces bleeding; alleviates pain. Take 10-20 g of psyllium husk daily, in divided doses, with 2 glass of water, for many months.
Supplements for Topical Use
- Butcher's broom
 
Butcher's broom improves blood circulation; protects blood vessels; reduces itching and burning sensations. Apply a cream or suppository containing butcher's broom, 1-3 times daily, for many weeks, as suggested on the label.
- Witch hazel
 
Witch hazel is an astringent, an anodyne and an anti-inflammatory; reduces inflammation and pain; accelerates healing. Apply witch hazel containing topical preparation 2-4 times daily, for many months, as suggested on the label or use witch hazel containing suppository. Works better if used with horse chestnut.
- Bilberry

- Bistort root

Calendula is a demulcent and an anti-inflammatory; alleviates pain; accelerates healing. Apply a topical preparation containing calendula 2-4 times daily, for many months, as suggested on the label.
- Oak bark

Oak bark is an astringent; alleviates pain; accelerates healing. Apply oak bark containing topical preparation 2-5 times daily, for many months, as suggested on the label.
- Slippery elm inner bark

Slippery elm inner bark is an anti-inflammatory; it is a demulcent; contains mucilage; accelerates healing. Apply slippery elm inner bark containing cream 2-4 times daily for many months.
