- Carnitine
  
Carnitine improves heart function; reduces the chance to have a subsequent heart attack, reduces heart damaged area size, heart enlargement and other heart problems. Take 3-6 g of carnitine daily, in divided doses, for many months.
- Coenzyme Q10
  
Coenzyme Q10 improves heart function; used after a heart attack reduces other heart attack risks; reduces heart problems. Take 120-240 mg of coenzyme Q10 daily, in divided doses, for many months.
- Garlic
  
Garlic is a blood thinner; used after a heart attack, reduces other heart attack risks; reduces heart problems. Take garlic, containing 5-15 mg of alliin or 2.5-5.0 mg of allicin potential or 2-6 g of aged garlic daily, in divided doses, for many months.
- Alpha lipoic acid
 
Alpha lipoic acid is an antioxidant; neutralizes free radicals; helps quick recovery after heart attack. Take 400-600 mg of alpha lipoic acid daily, in divided doses, for many months.
- Antioxidants
 
Antioxidants neutralize free radicals; they reduce heart damage. Take antioxidants daily, in divided doses, for many months, as suggested on the label.
- Beta-carotene
 
Beta-carotene is an antioxidant; neutralizes free radicals; reduces heart damage. Take 25,000-50,000 IU of beta-carotene daily, in divided doses, for many months. Do not use synthetic beta-carotene if you are a smoker. It may increase the risk of some type of cancers.
- Dan-shen root
 
Dan-shen root is a blood thinner; reduces platelet aggregation; protects heart; improves coronary circulation; improves heart function; improves heart's pumping capacity. Take 2.5-5.0 g of dried dan-shen root daily, in divided doses, for many months.
