Supplements for Oral Use
- Butterbur

Butterbur is an expectorant; promotes the expulsion of mucus from throat and lungs; alleviates symptoms. Take 100-200 mg of standardized and pyrrolizidine alkaloids free butterbur extract daily, containing 15-30 mg of petasin, in divided doses, for many months.
- Glutathione

Glutathione is an antioxidant and an immune enhancer; neutralizes free radicals; enhances immune system; improves bronchial and lung function, alleviates symptoms. Take 1.2-1.8 g of glutathione daily, in divided doses, for many months. Better to use N-acetylcysteine, glutamic acid and glycine mixture.
- Bilberry
Bilberry is an anti-inflammatory and astringent; reduces inflammation and secretions; alleviates symptoms. Take standardized bilberry extract daily, containing 60-90 mg of anthocyanosides, in divided doses, for many months.
- EPA
EPA is an omega 3 fatty acid; it is an anti-inflammatory; reduces lung inflammation; alleviates symptoms. Take 1.5-3.0 g of EPA daily, in divided doses, for many months.
- Fish oil
Fish oil contains omega 3 fatty acids; it is an anti-inflammatory; reduces lung inflammation; alleviates symptoms. Take 6-9 g of fish oil daily, containing 18% EPA and 12% DHA, in divided doses, for many months.
- Flax seed
Flax seed is a demulcent; soothes mucous membranes; alleviates symptoms. Take 25-50 g of crushed flax seed daily, in divided doses, with a glass of water, for many months.
- Yarrow
Yarrow is an anti-inflammatory, an anti-infectious and an anticatarrhal; reduces lung inflammation and infection; promotes mucus elimination and alleviates symptoms. Take 2-4 g of dried yarrow daily, in divided doses, in tea or capsule form, for many months.
