Supplements for Oral Use
- DHA

DHA is an omega 3 fatty acid; softens and soothes the skin and reduces skin dryness. Take 0.5-1.5 g of DHA daily, in divided doses, for many months.
- EPA

EPA is an omega 3 fatty acid; softens and soothes the skin; reduces skin dryness. Take 1-4 g of EPA daily, in divided doses, for many months.
- Fish oil

Fish oil contains omega 3 fatty acids; softens and soothes the skin; reduces skin dryness. Take 3-6 g of fish oil daily, containing 18% EPA and 12% DHA, in divided doses, for many months.
- Flax seed

Flax seed softens and soothes the skin; reduces skin dryness. Take 25-50 g of crushed flax seed daily, in divided doses, with a glass of water, for many months.
- GLA

GLA softens and soothes the skin; reduces skin dryness. Take 300-600 mg of GLA daily, in divided doses, with meals, for many months. If you take 2-4 g of black currant seed oil, containing 15% of GLA or 1.25-2.50 g of borage oil, containing 24% of GLA or 3-6 g of evening primrose oil, containing 10% of GLA you receive 300-600 mg of GLA.
- Zinc
Zinc is a nutritional support; it helps to overcome zinc deficiency and reduces skin dryness. Take 25-50 mg of zinc daily, in divided doses, for many months. Better if used with copper.
Supplements for Topical Use
- Almond oil
 
Almond oil is an emollient; softens and soothes the skin and reduces skin dryness. Apply pure almond oil or almond oil containing topical preparation 2-3 times daily, for many months, as suggested on the label.
- Aloe
 
Aloe moisturizes the skin; reduces skin dryness. Apply a topical preparation containing aloe 2-4 times daily, for many months, as suggested on the label.
- Calendula
 
Calendula reduces skin dryness; softens and soothes the skin. Apply a calendula containing topical preparation 2-4 times daily, for many months, as suggested on the label.
- Jojoba oil
 
Jojoba oil is a moisturizer; softens and soothes the skin and reduces skin dryness. Apply jojoba oil 2-3 times daily, for many months, as suggested on the label.
- Benzoin oil

Benzoin oil moisturizes the skin; reduces skin dryness. Apply benzoin oil containing topical preparation 2-4 times daily, for many weeks, as suggested on the label.
- Coconut oil

Coconut oil softens and soothes the skin and reduces skin dryness. Apply coconut oil or coconut oil containing topical preparation 2-4 times daily, for many months.
- Hemp seed oil

Hemp seed oil is an emollient; softens and soothes the skin and reduces skin dryness. Apply hemp seed oil containing topical preparation 2-4 times daily, for many months, as suggested on the label.
