Supplements for Oral Use
- Magnesium
  
Magnesium is an antispasmodic; relaxes muscles; reduces muscle cramps; alleviates spasms. Take 400-600 mg of magnesium daily, in divided doses, for many months. May be used by pregnant women.
- Black cohosh
 
Black cohosh is an antispasmodic; alleviates cramps and spasms. Take 80-120 mg of standardized black cohosh extract daily, containing 2.5% of triterpene glycosides, in divided doses, for many months.
- Butterbur
 
Butterbur is an antispasmodic; alleviates spasms. Take 100-200 mg of standardized and pyrrolizidine alkaloids free butterbur extract daily, containing 15-30 mg of petasin, in divided doses, for many months.
- Calcium
 
Calcium helps to overcome calcium deficiency; provides mineral nutrient that body needs; relaxes muscles; reduces muscle cramps. Take 1.0-1.4 g of calcium daily, in divided doses, for many months. May be used by pregnant women.
- Cramp bark
 
Cramp bark is an antispasmodic; relaxes muscles; reduces muscle cramps and spasms. Take cramp bark daily, in divided doses, for many mopnths, as suggested on the label.
- Black haw root

Black haw root is an antispasmodic; relaxes muscles; reduces muscle cramps and spasms. Take black haw root daily, in divided doses, for many mopnths, as suggested on the label.
- Blue cohosh

Blue cohosh is an antispasmodic; relaxes muscles and alleviates spasms. Take blue cohosh daily, in divided doses, for many weeks, as suggested on the label. Use this product under the control of an experienced practitioner.
Supplements for Topical Use
- Wintergreen essential oil

Wintergreen essential oil is an antispasmodic and an anodyne; alleviates spasm and pain. Apply wintergreen essential oil containing topical preparation 1-2 times daily, for a limited time, as suggested on the label.
- Musk mallow
Musk mallow reduces cramps and spasms. Apply musk mallow containing topical preparation 2-4 times daily, for many weeks' as suggested on the label.
