Supplements for Oral Use
- Fiber
  
Fiber is a bulk-forming laxative; stimulates bowel movement. Take fiber daily, in divided doses, for many months, as suggested on the label. May be used by pregnant women.
- Psyllium
  
Psyllium is a soluble fiber; it is a bulk-forming laxative; stimulates bowel movement. Take 5-15 g of psyllium husk daily, in divided doses, with 2 glass of water, for many months. May be used by pregnant women.
- Lactulose
 
Lactulose softens stools; alleviates constipation. Take lactulose daily, in divided doses, for many weeks, as suggested on the label. May be used by pregnant women.
- Dandelion

Dandelion stimulates bowel movement; alleviates constipation. Take 6-15 g of dandelion root daily, in tea form, in divided doses, for many months. May be used by pregnant women.
- Flax seed

Flax seed is a bulk-forming laxative; stimulates bowel movement; alleviates constipation. Take 25-50 g of crushed flax seed daily, in divided doses, with a glass of water, for many months. Contains hormone-like ingredients and its use by pregnant women is questionable. Better use flax seed oil, it does not contain hormonr-like ingredients.
- Flax seed oil

Flax seed oil softens the stool; stimulates bowel movement; alleviates constipation. Take 10-20 g of flax seed oil daily, in divided doses, when you have constipation.
- Glucomannan

Glucomannan is a soluble fiber; stimulates bowel movement. Take 4-8 g of glucomannan daily, in divided doses, before meals, with 2 glass of water, for many months. May be used by pregnant women.
