    Rhubarb is a stimulant laxative. Take 1.5-3.0 teaspoon of rhubarb root daily, in tea form, in divided doses when you have constipation.

    Senna is a stimulant laxative. Take concentrated senna extract daily, containing 20-50 mg of sennosides, in divided doses, not more than 10 days.

  • Alder buckthorn bark RatingRatingRatingRating

    Alder buckthorn bark is a stimulant laxative; stimulates bowel movement; alleviates constipation. Take dried alder buckthorn bark daily, containing 15-30 mg of anthraquinone glycosides, before bedtime, for a maximum of 10 days and drink 1-2 l of water during the day.

    Castor oil is a powerful laxative, cathartic and purgative; alleviates acute constipation. Do not use it for chronic constipation. Take castor oil as suggested on the label.
