Biotin improves the brittleness of nails. Take 2-4 mg of biotin daily, in divided doses, for many months.
- GLA
 
GLA improves the brittleness of nails. Take 300-600 mg of GLA daily, in divided doses, with meals, for many months. If you take 2-4 g of black currant seed oil, containing 15% of GLA or 1.25-2.50 g of borage oil, containing 24% of GLA or 3-6 g of evening primrose oil, containing 10% of GLA you receive 300-600 mg of GLA.
- Glucosamine
 
Glucosamine improves the brittleness of nails. Take 1.5-3.0 g of glucosamine daily, in divided doses, for many months.
- Horsetail
 
Horsetail contains silicon; improves the brittleness of nails. Take 3-6 g of horsetail daily, in tea or capsule form, in divided doses, for many months.
- Silicon
 
Silicon improves the brittleness of nails. Take 10-25 mg of silicon daily, in divided doses, for many months.
- Calcium

Calcium helps to overcome calcium deficiency; provides mineral nutrient that body needs; improves the brittleness of nails. Take 1.0-1.4 g of calcium daily, in divided doses, for many months.
- Cysteine

Cysteine improves the brittleness of nails. Take 1.0-1.5 g of cysteine daily, in divided doses, for many months.
