- Asian ginseng
   
Asian ginseng is an adaptogen; increases stress resistance. Take 1.5-3.0 g of dried Asian ginseng root or 225-450 mg of standardized Asian ginseng root extract containing 5-7% of ginsenosides daily, in divided doses, for many weeks.
- American ginseng
  
American ginseng is an adaptogen; increases stress resistance. Take 1.5-3.0 g of dried American ginseng root daily, in divided doses, for many weeks.
- Ashwagandha root
  
Ashwagandha root is an adaptogen; increases stress resistance. Take 3-6 g of dried ashwagandha root daily, in divided doses, for many months.
- Eleuthero root
  
Eleuthero root is an adaptogen; increases stress resistance. Take 1.5-3.0 g of eleuthero root daily, in tea or capsule form, in divided doses, for many months.
- Maitake
  
Maitake is an adaptogen; increases stress resistance. Take 3.5-7.0 g of dried maitake daily, in divided doses, for many months.
- Reishi
  
Reishi is an adaptogen; increases stress resistance. Take 2-8 g of reishi daily, in divided doses, for many months.
- Rhodiola
  
Rhodiola is an adaptogen; increases stress resistance. Take standardized extract of rhodiola daily, containing 4-12 mg of rosavin, in divided doses, before meals, for many months.
